Adobe Photoshop Elements is a “photo-editing software” which makes it magically simple to create extraordinary photos and quickly share them through Online Albums. It’s basically a all-in-one tool which can make your digital life simply comfortable. Here are free alternatives to Adobe Photoshop Elements that provide some of the similar features.

Gimp

Gimp is the best free alternative to Adobe Photoshop Elements. Gimp is the best free alternative to Adobe Photoshop Elements I have found so far. It is streets ahead of all the other free softwares for image editing and holds its own place under the sun. GIMP stands for GNU Image Manipulation Program. It is a freely distributed program for such tasks as photo retouching, image composition and image authoring. It has oodles of useful features which will please your mind and get you addicted to it. It can be used as a simple paint program, an expert quality photo retouching program, an online batch processing system, a mass production image renderer, an image format converter. It has got a lot of visual appeal and locks the user to itself with its simple yet very powerful features. Once you have installed Gimp on your computer, life is full of surprises and it pleases you every time you grab the mouse to edit an image. Use Gimp to tell the whole world your own story and still manage to do it fast and smooth.

Paint.Net

Paint.Net is another good free alternative to Adobe Photoshop Elements. Paint.Net is free image and photo editing software for computers which run on Windows. The most striking feature of this software is its “intuitive and user-friendly” graphical interface with support for layers, unlimited undo, special effects and a wide array of useful and solid tools. The installation file is small and downloads in the blink of an eye. Using it is even more simpler and interesting. It has been one of the most awarded tool-kit in its genre and continues to become even more popular. Paint.net has an ever growing number of followers who are so satisfied with this software’s overall performance and skill.

Pixia

Pixia is a good replacement for Adobe Photoshop Elements. Pixia is the English version of a popular Japanese painting and retouching software for full color graphics. It is one of the most capable and professional Photoshop alternatives I’ve tried. It supports mask, layer and many other editing functions. You can use your own customized brush tips and even use an image file as a brush tip to create unique effects. Its user-friendly interface is suitable for beginners as well as experts. Pixia supports the most common editing techniques and presents a user friendly interface. It does some things a bit differently from Photoshop and its clones, which is generally a good thing. But though Pixia’s icons and controls are all well designed and very visually oriented, I would like to see more labels and descriptions, especially when I hover the cursor over an unfamiliar icon or tool. However, with a little practice, Pixia can do pretty much anything the others can do, only for free.
